So this is a short story about Komlós emblem, and why its here?

Last Saturday I worked there, as a "photo machine", this was the best Sport Nap here in Hungary of course of all this I was in. Whole day from 9 in the morning til 8 p.m. just SPORT or maybe without DJ, he drunk quite a lot:)

Maybe we should also do some sport games for volunteers for example volleyball championship, If Uve got some ideas whre it can be possible maybe...?

So this was a part of my work last week.

So we did some kind of course (or Zsuzsanna the main task and I some games) , about opportunities which gives European Union, the task was about Youth programs also EVS and I found that If the stimulation is good or just when U can find stimualation U can discover some ideas I knew about it... but because of some reasons there is not so many things, people I see here like that...

I know we didnt have cameras, but we've got some pictures, so its gonna be a good memory about english teacher and for sure shouting crazy nő, especially that we started to do games with wrong youths, so girls used without reason face paints, and I used all baloons, we sung János Bacsi song, but they had no idea what is it:):):):)

it was REALLY interesting day, after I realised what means HUNGARIAN FLAG thanks to Marine, right now with no problems we will recognise also hungarian children:Ö

PIEROGI - recipe

Thank U for coming one more time, so PIEROGI, how to do them/??

Dough:

1 kg flour
1 or 2 eggs, Im using one
lukewarm water
Knead, adding water as necessary. Dough should be quite loose, and not stick,#hard# will be not good.
pinch salt

Stuffing:

cooked potatoes
cottage cheese

salt

pepper if U want normally U can do half without and another with, so after U will know

Cook in in a large amount of lightly salted water. When they come to the surface, cook them over low heat 4-5 minutes, remove, drain well.

Serve with butter or pork fat with cracklings they ve got wonderfull colour as LéA said:)

or with thick, lightly soured cream or with both as we did, and I did an onion with oil, Bertolli:):):)

Today I was working in Szigetvár, I was responsible for pictures, to do them of course, it was a sport day in one of the school there or in a school which contain a primary school, secodary and ... so there was about 800 youths, a lot ... they had an opportunity to take a part in volleball champion:), football champion:), ping-pong champion, basketball, they also were using bow weapon I tried ''''' its really hard'''... There were a lot I had problems to do good pictures, cause they were moving all the time' Can U imagine sport day in stagnacy:) especially when camera is not the best one...

I had some free time I was hungry in Hungary I ate langos it was really tasty, FATTY, too big , U can see it.

So I want to show U some pictures and I had also put some staff, some description about the history and why the 'city ' is known. Enjoy'

Szigetvár - small city near Pécs, its famous becaue of the battle and Hungarian writer Zrinyi Miklós, who wrote about the battle :) which started at of 6st of August and ended at 8st of September in 1566, fought between the defending forces of the Habsburg Monarchy under the leadership of Croatian ban Nikola Šubić Zrinski (in Hungarian Zrínyi Miklós; note also that ban is a Croatian title) and the invading army of the Ottoman Empire under the nominal command of Sultan Suleiman the Magnificent. After many days of exhausting and bloody struggle, the defenders retreated into the Old City; with the majority of Croats already dead, this was their last stand. The Turks tried to lure Zrinski into submission, offering him rule over all of Croatia (of course, under their sovereignty) but to no avail, Zrinski saying "...nobody will point his finger on my children in contempt. While the siege was still continuing Suleiman zhe Magnificient died of natural causes at night before day break of Saturday, 7th September. The Grand Vizier Sokollu Mehmed Pasha decided to keep the news secret so that it would not ruin morale at the end of the siege.

The next day the final battle was conducted. The castle of Szigetvár was burnt down to ruined walls by mining and burning huge heaps of woods put around it at all corners. In the morning, September the 7th, the all-out attack by the Turks began: fireballs, "Greek fire", concentrated cannonade, fusillade. Soon, the last Croat stronghold within Siget was set ablaze. The entire Turkish army swarmed against the Old City, drumming and yelling, "..their flags darkening the skies." Reportedly, Zrinski prepared for the last charge, addressing his brothers-in-arms: "..Let us go out from this burning place into the open and stand up to our enemies. Who dies - he will be with God. Who dies not - his name will be honoured. I will go first, and what I do, you do. And God is my witness - I will never leave you, my brothers and knights'"The defender Zrinski wearing a silk robe, carrying a hanging golden key on his breast and wearing a hat with a crane aigrette, started an exit in force from the castle at the head of 600 of his troops. He was heavily wounded at his chest and his head by Ottoman bullets. Thus, at the end, the heroic obstinate commander, who survived a siege lasting 36 days, his dead body was beheaded by a sword lying on an Ottoman cannon. The Turks took the fort and effectively won the battle. Only seven defenders managed to get through Turkish lines.

The battle was immortalized in the epic poem The Peril of Sziget - Szigeti Veszedelem in Hungarian in 1664 by Zrinski's great-grandson, Nikola Zrinski, also a ban of Croatia. This was one of the first such epics in the Hungarian language.

This are the pictures from Orfű, a little village near Pécs, its a lovely, small falu, full of green colour and wonderfull ici-pici cementary, I know maybe it sound strange but I loved it, anyway I was there with youths, adults who want to create center for youngsters in their cities, villages or already the are doing / they did "something", who are full of energy to do activites:) I did for them relax with a music by Arianna Savall and many candles, I felt there fantastic, so If U will have some free time go to see ORFŰ , U can swim there and pihenni. Üdvözlöm mindenkit, akikkel találkoztam s nagyon köszönöm tökélets időért, ami együtt töltöttünk.

Rain... after rain

SARAJEVO

We would like to share with U photos from our trip Emins and mine to Bosnia i Hercegovina, first picture is from Sarajevo, from the old town, we felt marvellous there, and we looked interesting, people were telling that is polish and turkish mix is interesting, this was done in one of the small street, on the right our first and last breakfast, generally we should have ate three, but it didnt happen:) We had been also in Mostar, were we met fantastic bosnian people, with them we spent the whole afternoon and night they showed and told us the things that we would not expected to, I know right now much more about islam, muslims, the bosnian culture and war, we tasted untypical for me tea, the best Ive ever drunk, ohh , here they are, and the tea also ... apple tea with brown sugar.... and t

The last pictures are from Mostar, we spent there just one day, but what a wonderfull day, in Bosnia I felt my spirit, like at home...I think that Emin too, cause as he said there's a lot of common things, but not everything of course...

Sarajevo is coming to be a city with a mix of tradition and modern style...

So Here we are on the EVS Clubs. The pictures on the right and in the center were done in Pilisszentlászló I wish I were there cause Isee U felt there good, on the left we can see Sukkry Mr
Chang who makedas happy and he tried to find people who parlez vous francais, and he did it, the yellows were everywhere, Szentendre was fool of our colours. I would like to thank u for the time we spend together, I hope we will meet with other hungarian volunteers on the next Evs Club, I wish U ALL and me also another marvelous
Club, so we could teach from eachother:)

Globalisation

Globalisation is over !!!!

thanks to Agi, we have had the opportunity to participate to an event against globalisation. There was our recycled wallets (so beautiful) that they have sold. I'm sure they won lots of money thanks to us ;)
We heard a long and very interresting speach about globalisation.....in Hungarian :) and right after two nice concerts. The first was inidian music. We danced dances whose were a bit strange for me somethimes but anyway funny.

I would like another time to thanks Agi for this very nice evening.

Hi,
for me, it was the second time since i'm here, that a Hungarian offer me to go to Serbia. The first time it was to Ada, this time it was to Subotica. But not by car but by hish-hiking and we was 7!!!!!
As crazy people we was, we started to hish-hike at 3PM. After 20 km out of Pécs (on 160 km) and one hour of wainting for a second car, we decided to go back to Pécs, by bus!!!!
As Marine whished since the morning, we went to Sofia and Lea's flat to eat pasta bolognaise.
It was my best trip ever, thanks to the people who made my dreams become true.

Fogd a kezem

the 24 of November we went to visit the Sophia's and Léa's project in Fogd a kezem.

With Elcin we arrived in late because we had meeting in a school before (sorry!). When we arrived, everybody was dressed and make up. It1s funny to see it. Marine was making the clown, people was junggling,....
So started to make balls of junggling, it was not what i was expected but the goal was not to make the best balls ever. We played with the youngsters with our own made balls, hoooula-houp ;). Finally we had a dinner together and we came back home.
I really want to thank Fodg a kezem for this morning and of course specially Sophia and Lea to have shared their project with us.
And a huge thanks to the youngsters who were really nice with us.

From the 15th to the 19th of November, it was the EVS Klub in Debrecen.
During 5 days, we had lots of fun, make lots of good parties, we've eaten and drunk for free. And of course, the most important, we meet lots of nice people ;)
The training has been, for me, a bit empty As the traineers said, they lost themself. So we didn't talked about Hungarian history in daily life. But it gave us the opportunity to organise a demonstration against food globalisation :)

We had differents workshops as : Creative poster, Intellectual workshop, Theater and The free time rescue team.
In more of these worshops we played a treasure hunting in Debrecen (so nice town for me) and we went to a....spa, with baths, turkish sauna, soooo good.

so for the one who didnt get the info, all of you volunteers are invited to an "active visit" of Fogd a Kezem alapitvany (project of sofia and I (lea )).
It will be on friday morning, and you can bring all the ideas you want to make something with the youngsters (we have already a lot of things around circus, you can bring music, costumes maybe, things to cook...the youngsters are waiting for you creativity....it can be whatever you want...)
SO, it will be from 9 to...after lunch...
We will take at 8h30the bus (26) from Uranvaros (terminus of the buses 2, 2A, 20, 20A, 27...) t... We can meet there at 8h15 and go together.
if you want, you can also eat in our workplace (but tell it before so that we can order a lunch for you)
For the people who would be late, you can also come by the bus 25 (stop kovac bela utca) or the 26 (stop patacs), the fundation is situated 10, kovacs bela utca.
I think also that we can speak about the thing we can do on wednesday evening (if Elcin doesnt mind), please bring with you your ideas.....

My co-workers and me would like to invite you to two nice happenings:

> on 14th november 2006: ROMA-EVENING

We already start at 3 o'clock pm in the youth-center Faág Barati Kör

Egyesület (Hunyadi út 54), where I also work.

We will bake Roma-bread (Roma-kényér) which is said to be very tasty.

We are going to do this until 6 o'clock pm, so you can also join later.
Which means: don't worry if you cannot be here at the exact time.
Between 6 and 7 o'clock pm, we will leave here and go with some

co-workers by bus (only about 3 stations) to a restaurant where all

Romalogy-students meet.
There will be a great Roma-Party with music and dancing and everything.
I am nearly sure that will be fun. And my mentor intvited you all.

That's an event which happens every time one saturday in the

month here in Faág. On such a club day a lot of young people come

here and we make some activities with them.

This time it will be no real "club day", because we decided now to

change first the "look" of Faág.

So that it will like much more nicer than now and the children feel

well here. It will start this saturday at 10 o'clock and everybody is

still invited!!! Creative help would be very useful.

So, I hope I will meet some of you at this events.

"Baraka"and evs meeting

it was really hard movie!!!
after all those we went to a cafe but it is interesting we did not drink anything:) but we decided what we want to do and when we will make our countries presentations....

And we had a lot of things to do. sometimes it is hard to find good solutions!! but we can manage:) for example: we want to visit each evs projects in Pécs. and then we want to connect some projects to each other with small activities! ( Fogd a Kezem and Faag)...

Saturday Party at Faág Baráti-Kör

There were 5 volunteers. Sandra, Sophia, Maria, Clayton and i. And also Andras and Clayton’s girl friend were there. First we had a quite tiring walking! After that we were at Faág Baráti-Kőr. Also there was one more volunteer there. We met her and her name is Saskia. There were 8 young people and more than 5 kids
When they saw us, they were really amazed. They could not decide what should they do. But then they started to talk about their organization. They showed each rooms. Half an hour later they tried to get know us!
In the morning we watched a movie about their organization’s summer camp. And then they started to cook for lunch. We had lunch together and talked about their organizations. They are working quite good. They have film club, cooking days, language and other classes for kids, computer room and a quite big library. Children come there to do their homeworks, use internet and of course play games. But they have some problems about involving youngesters.

After this good conversation, we started play games. There were three groups in the game. They asked questions about the most important, bigger and ..things in the world. We got points and at the end of the game they gave small sweet presents to all groups.:)
And then we made drawed nice pictures with potato stamps and ropes. We made handicraft things and dolls from ropes.

At the end of the day we were really tired. But we were glad to know these people. Because they were soo friendly. We decided to visit them more often.
